The chosen one to NYC?!?

So the Knicks are publicly trying to talk Lebron James into moving from Cleveland (where they have treated him as well as they can) to New York (where they want to start a Dynasty around hime)  Now, I believe this all matters what happens this year.

Cleveland is by far the favorite for taking the championship this year but if for some reason they don’t take it.   New York is also openly recruiting Dwayne Wade and if they could get these two players together and if they could build a team around them.   Now that would be a team worth watching.

Lakers getting a little humility??

Not that I am the biggest fan of the Lakers but I take no happiness in watching them lose.   But when they bring out their attitudes, I am so happy to see them get beaten.    After losing their previous two games, they had the gall to call the Orlando Magic “puppies” coming into the game.

Now, when fates comes so quickly back, it make me happy.   The Lakers are a good team, I will give them that.   But, they really need to realize that they are not the Jordan’s Bulls team and that you are only alienating possible fans because of your attitudes.

The Winter Olympics is actually pretty interesting

I don’t think the Winter Olympics gets a much credit as it deserves.  I mean, even from me, I was knocking them before they started but now, that is the first thing I turn on when I am looking for something to watch at night.

Now, I understand why NBC has put so much money into having the rights to both the Winter and Summer Olympics.  I would bet that my TV has been on NBC about 90% of the time the last few weeks and I don’t regret that at all.

America finally takes the America Cup back!

The world’s oldest active prize (even older then the modern Olympics) has returned to the USA after a 15 year drought.   A team put together by BMW and Oracle this last weekend took the prize back from Switzerland who were the reigning champions of the last two years.

The cup is called “America” not because it has to do with anything about the two continents but because the first ship to win it was called “America”   Though you have to get the US credit, they had won the cup every year since when it was started until 1983.

Now that the Superbowl is over… waiting for the madness to begin

Personally, I am not a big winter Olympics guy.  So the fact that the Superbowl, I have almost a month to wait until I can really get excited again for a sporting event.   Though the average NBA or NCAA game is interesting, they are not much more then empty TV time until you give me a contest to get ready for.

I don’t know why but I like the excitement of the “make it or break it” style of play.   To see if the teams can really stand up to challenge or fall to the pressure.   I know that sounds shallow but it is the truth.

Champions from Every Nation come together

There is nothing better then watching the best that the world has to offer come together and compete.   The Greeks had the right idea when they created what we know now as the Olympics.    Though in recently years they have been prone to scandals, I still love the premise and the dedication that comes from this legendary sporting event.

Every two years, we put the best we have up on the world altar and we see where we stand. Come next month, Vancouver will try it’s luck as host city.  I am excited to see what happens.

BCS Bowl Games…

As we are finishing up the College football season, it is time for some guesses on who will be going to the bowl games and also to the championship game.   As it looks now, the Championship game will be between Florida and Texas.    There is still a chance that for an upset to chance this outcome, but it is unlikely.

For the Sugar Bowl, my guess would be Alabama against Texas Christan.  This is funny because this is would be the second year in a row that the Crimson Tide will go up against the Mountain West Conference’s undefeated team.   Last year, the Utah Utes showed Alabama and the rest of the BCS that smaller conferences should have a chance to play with the Big Boys, I believe this year will be no different.   Though Alabama will be prepared this year for a battle, I believe that the Horned Frogs of T.C.U will win this battle.

The Rose Bowl will probably end up being Oregon vs either Cincinnati or Ohio State.  Either way, I believe that Oregon will end up taking the prize.

Fiesta Bowl looks like it will be Penn State versus Iowa, there is a chance that it will be given to Boise State for their perfect record as well, but I have a hard time believe that the BCS will allow two Non-BCS teams into their precious bowl games but stranger things have happened.

And finally the Orange Bowl, my bet is on Georgia Tech vs the other Ohio team that doesn’t go to the  Rose bowl.   I am not really excited for this game but I am sure this will be the most exciting game of the bowls since I am planning not to watch it.  What can you do…

Tis The Season for College Football!

It’s kick off time!!! Football in my opinion is the greatest sport out there! Out of college or pro – my favorite is college I feel that college players play with more heart than they once they have gone pro.  It is so exciting to see the team you root for go to a bowl game! That’s the BEST ….
